(EABAMETOONG) June 29, 2017 – Today, during a visit to Eabametoong First Nation (Fort Hope), the Hon. Bob Nault, Member of Parliament for the Kenora riding, joined the Minister of Health, the Hon. Jane Philpott, is announcing $150,000 for the planning of the Aboriginal Head Start facility through the Early Learning and Child Care Initiative.
“Promoting awareness of Indigenous languages and culture is paramount to its preservation,” stated Nault. “The Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve program provides Early Childhood Education activities which promote school readiness, language and cultural awareness, and family engagement.”
The funding announced today will assist in the planning of improved facilities, which will address challenges such as limited space and access to play areas.
