(KENORA) June 29, 2018 – The Honourable Bob Nault, Member of Parliament (Kenora riding), released the following statement following the official swearing-in of Ontario`s new Premier, Doug Ford, and his Cabinet.
“The start of a new government is a very important time for Ontario residents; it brings with it fresh perspectives and new possibilities. On behalf of the residents of the Kenora riding, I would first like to extend my sincere congratulations to Premier Ford as he begins the enormous and challenging task of governing Ontario on behalf of all its residents.
“I look forward to working with our provincial counterparts on unlocking the full potential of Northwestern Ontario, including addressing our transportation needs, advancing our relationship with First Nations, and continuing to invest in the North to help grow the economy and create new job opportunities throughout the riding.
“I would like to congratulate MPP Greg Rickford, in his new role as Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines, and Minister of Indigenous Affairs. It’s very clear that lowering the price of electricity, working collaboratively with First Nations, and developing our mining resource sector are key issues to our future prosperity in the Kenora riding. I look forward to working with him to ensure that the needs of the Northerners are heard at Queens Park.
“Northwestern Ontario holds the key to so much of the potential contained within our province. By working together with municipal, provincial and federal levels of governments, we can continue to make the North even stronger.”
