The riding of Kenora is located in Northwestern Ontario, and is home to many communities including 42 First Nations. As one of the largest geographical ridings in the country, the Kenora riding encompasses one third of Ontario’s land mass, and it approximately the same size as France.
Parts of the riding border Manitoba, Hudson Bay, and the United States – making it the perfect tourist destination for lake dwellers looking to enjoy Ontario’s beautiful North. This geographically substantial riding is home to the renowned Lake of the Woods, and is covered with hundreds of other lakes. In the summer months, tourism and recreational opportunities cause the population to increase dramatically, and camping, fishing, and boating become commonplace activities.
The riding of Kenora also presents great opportunity for economic development and growth. With its two largest industries being mining and forestry, the region demonstrates a wealth of natural resources. The world class facility located just West of Vermillion Bay, IISD Experimental Lakes Area, is an example of the potential for innovation and research that exists in the riding.
Thank you for taking a moment to learn about out riding. this vast and rugged landscape, home to a range of diverse peoples and communities, is waiting to be explored. The Kenora riding is truly a place characterized by its natural beauty, hardy inhabitants, and endless potential.
